Contact skeeter@fight.org Ext. 129Why did you join FIGHT? Because of personal experiences regarding friends and family who have died from HIV/AIDS at a time when the only treatment available was AZT. Explain what you do at FIGHT. I provide support to the Case Management team. I am first when it comes to intake and evaluation of clients in need of case management and I assist case managers with client needs and seek out services to help them. Tell us about a specific moment that stands out during your career at FIGHT. I have been at FIGHT for seven years and the thing that keeps me going and that stand out most are one, the clients and two, the team of people that I work with and the commitment that we share with each other and the clients. Working for an AIDS service organization can be hard. What keeps you motivated? Knowing that on any given day the person coming in the door could be me or a family member or a friend - and I must help and even be an active, positive part of their lives. Is there anything else you would like people to know about your experience at FIGHT? This is real life, the medical providers are real, and we work as a team at all times, even when we disagree. The client is the most important part of our job! |
