Computer Training
September 23, 2008

Computer classes are held in a series of three sessions at the AIDS Library. These tutorials are designed as a brief overview and introduction to the basics in computing. In each session, useful study material packets are distributed and tokens for transportation are provided. The series covers the following topics:

Orientation
A welcoming introduction to computer class tutorials provides an overview of all of the aspects involved in each computer class session.

THE BASICS: Getting Comfortable With Computers!
Learn the basics: the parts of the computer; commonly used programs and features; saving, editing, and printing a document.

EMAIL: Instant Communication
Much of today's late-breaking news and research is published on the web. Many people find it a quick and user-friendly way to keep in touch with family and friends. Learn how to get an e-mail account, join a list, and the "dos" and "don'ts" of electronic etiquette.

THE INTERNET: Surfing Safely Through the World Wide Web
Surf the 'Net to find information about latest HIV/AIDS information and resources. This tutorial guides you through the pages of our web site, www.aidslibrary.org.

Students receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.

Contact the AIDS Library at 215-985-4851 ext. 143 or teacher@critpath.org  to enroll.
